About the role

NewLane Finance is seeking a Credit Analyst to join the credit and risk modeling and analytics function. The role involves assisting in the development and implementation of complex credit models, ensuring business intent aligns with modeling outcomes, and communicating model mechanics to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in constructing Credit Decision Scorecards and credit risk modeling strategies using quantitative methods.
  • Develop and implement a framework for data collection, processing, and analysis of customer and third-party data.
  • Execute self-driven analytics on large datasets, preparing analysis and reports for decision-making.
  • Validate credit default rates from portfolio attributes and recommend changes to credit models and policies.
  • Collaborate with sales management on risk-based pricing strategies and optimize dealer conversion rates and profitability.
  • Oversee the credit data mart for reporting and portfolio performance monitoring.
  • Support ongoing and future projects by working with the senior team.
  • Create visualizations of data and quantitative information for management decision-making.
  • Maintain and enhance procedures and model documentation in compliance with regulatory guidance and the bank’s model risk policy.
  • Develop and present analytical reports and presentations for senior management, executive committees, and regulatory exams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics/Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Finance, or other quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Four (4) plus years' experience in Risk, Finance, or Consumer Lending.
  • Three (3) plus years of commercial small business credit modeling experience.
  • Two (2) plus years of experience in Consumer Lending statistical modeling/analytics, preferably related to ALL and/or Loss Forecasting modeling for credit cards.
  • Two (2) plus years of experience in coding with Python, PySpark, or other equivalent language within the past five (5) years.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with SAS and other statistical methods.
  • Proven ability to construct credit models in a regulated environment.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills in statistical analysis and data science best practices.
  • Effective communication and partnering skills.
