Key Responsibilities
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI), incoming product inspections, and new product launch inspections.
- Validate parts and ensure conformance to specifications.
- Partner with production teams to address quality concerns and develop effective reaction plans.
- Evaluate and provide disposition for nonconforming material (NCM).
- Manage inspection processes, ensuring proper tools, equipment calibration, and operator training.
- Conduct manufacturing process audits to verify compliance with procedures.
- Maintain ISO 9001 documentation and support corrective actions.
- Update and develop work instructions for plant-wide use.
- Collaborate on corrective action implementation and improvement initiatives.
- Support Material Review Board (MRB) processes and training programs for new employees.
- Perform calibration checks and maintain certifications for registered equipment per ISO standards.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in quality preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in quality assurance or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and auditing processes.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in documentation and data entry systems.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2–5 years of Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- ASQC certifications a plus.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications. Proficient in using mechanical inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.). Experience supporting and maintaining manufacturing inspection systems. Ability to lead and support an ISO 9001 quality system for a manufacturing operation. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of sheet metal fabrication, painting, and assembly processes (preferred).
- Analytical & Organizational Skills: Ability to analyze quality data, identify problem areas, and assist in resolving manufacturing process issues. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Technology & Communication: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word). Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with small and large groups.
