About the Role

The Quality & Testing Technician conducts final assembly operations, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic assembly using hand and power tools, prints, schematics, manuals, and photos. This role performs inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on various models of new and used equipment. The technician will communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers, prepare written and electronic documentation for product quality and operations, and support data collection and analysis for quality reporting. Additionally, the role involves facilitating corrective action processes for warranty and manufacturing issues, developing standard work, policies, and processes, and working both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely use power and hand tools as well as industrial equipment while assembling various models of product.
  • Assist co-workers in troubleshooting, repairing, and finishing units to meet production schedules.
  • Identify deficiencies in the operations of all models of products.
  • Identify materials, parts, and supplies needed to complete repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Safely drive and operate Vector trucks and equipment of all models.
  • Perform Quality Control Processes to ensure units are performing properly before shipment.
  • Follow prints, schematics, technical manuals, and written and spoken instructions.
  • Use electrical and mechanical aptitude and critical thinking to drive continuous improvement in work instructions, documentation, and processes.
  • Support and lead corrective action processes for warranty and manufacturing-related issues.
  • Develop standard work, policies, and processes to elevate performance in line with industry and customer expectations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience in large trucks/heavy machinery service and repair setting is strongly preferred.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment is required.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, multitask, diagnose, test, and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, water, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with Quality Control, Audits, and Process Improvement is preferred.
