JOB PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY
A quality technician is responsible for assuring consistent production quality by developing and enforcing; manufacturing practices, lean processes, validating procedures, performing audits, handling system improvements & providing documentation. This position requires strong attention to details, while developing and following quality processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with leadership on ISO9001:2015 certification initiatives, quality management systems, and continuous improvements. Assist in driving quality goals across the organization
- Work with leadership to develop testing methods to assure quality standards are met
- Test and inspect products to make sure they meet specified standards
- Track, compile, and report product failure during final assembly and test. Implement data-driven actions to improve production metrics
- Use NCR and RGA tracking mechanisms to determine root cause of failure and implement corrective action and controls
- Participate in Safety meetings and implement best practices
COMPETENCIES
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Proficiency in interpreting Engineering schematics and drawings.
- Mechanical and machining experience
- Strong communication skills: QA technicians communicate with people throughout all levels of the organization, requiring clear direction to employees and concise reporting to managers.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls.
- The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
- On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.
- The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Office hours average 40 per week
- Work typically performed in an indoor office setting.
REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ years of increasing complex roles in a production and manufacturing environment, with quality control implementation exposure
