Job Summary
The Quality Technician is responsible for performing inspections, tests, and documentation to ensure that beverage products meet all company, customer, and regulatory quality standards. This role monitors in-process production, conducts routine quality checks, and enforces GMP and food safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform line inspections including fill weights, torque, packaging integrity, and label placement
- Conduct checks for pH, Brix, temperature, and visual defects
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections and tests per company SOPs
- Report non-conformances, deviations, or product defects to QA Lead or Manager
- Support documentation for holds, rework, or corrective actions
- Monitor production and packaging areas maintain quality and cleanliness standards
- Communicate quality concerns clearly and professionally to operators and supervisors
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety, food safety, and quality standards, including GMPs, PPE requirements, and hazard reporting
- Perform all other duties or tasks as assigned by management to support departmental or company objectives.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Inspection Completion Rate: Timely, accurate execution of scheduled checks
- Documentation Accuracy: Error-free logs, reports, and test results
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–2 years of quality assurance or production experience in food/beverage industry preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and basic lab procedures
- Ability to read and follow SOPs, production orders, and safety instructions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively with operators and supervisors
- Basic computer and data entry skills (Excel, QA systems)
