  • Plant Overview: Over 300 employees, Holland Plant has been around since 1897, Products produced: sweet relish, Grey Poupon mustard, yellow mustard, vinegar, pickle variations, BBQ sauce, Union Facility – Retail, Wholesale, and Department Store Union (RWDSU)

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Obtain product samples and prepare for various test and reviews
  • Perform various determinations on products as required, such as, but not limited to: Salinity, acidity, pH, brix, sugar, vacuum, headspace, count, fill weight, finished goods, consistency, turbidity, color, spin test, drained weight, torque, defect levels, tamper evident function, temperature, package integrity and sieve
  • Maintain a current working knowledge of all analytical, statistical, and finished goods evaluation procedures
  • Acquire and properly store Quality Assurance samples
  • Maintain accurate and complete records
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly working area. Including washing dishes and stocking lab supplies
  • Prepare barcode scanners for production lines at the beginning of every shift or line startup
  • Hourly glass audits on relevant production areas
  • Weekly GMP audits on relevant areas
  • Assist in troubleshooting as applicable when nonconformances are identified
  • Verify Xray functionality on all applicable lines
  • Review Xray reject images for potential contaminants as necessary
  • Hourly finished goods inspections including verification of proper codes and proper materials usage (bottle/cap/sleeve/etc)
  • Inform appropriate personnel of nonconformance to specifications
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the pickle, vinegar and sauce manufacturing operations
  • Set up and perform organoleptic reviews as required
  • Maintain a working knowledge of and perform other Q.A. related duties as directed
  • Keep work area clean and orderly
  • Follow all safety and quality guidelines
  • Perform any other duty as required by supervisor or lead person

Qualifications

  • GED or greater required
  • Requires applied mathematical skills
  • Requires accuracy in recordkeeping
  • Requires good standing within the company to maintain qualification
  • Requires computer literacy and capability to learn Quality Assurance systems
