Responsibilities
- Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and third-party specifications to obtain product information such as specified material, surface finish, and dimensions.
- Performs testing and evaluation of material in the production process, and tests products for qualities such as dimensions and mechanical characteristics.
- Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures when required.
- Contributes to failure analysis and root cause investigation as needed.
- Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.
- Assists in the development and implementation of standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Applies proper metrology practices and gauge selection in the development of Quality Inspection Plans.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Capable in using all hand-held measuring devices (Calipers, Micrometer, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and product information.
- Proficiency with writing reports and creating graphs and charts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Fully versed with ANSI Y-14.5 Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Capable of operating a CMM (FARO Arm).
- Good understanding of Quality Management Systems (AS-9100 preferred).
- Ability to communicate and/or present information to others.
Travel and Physical Requirements
- 10% travel requirement.
- Physical demands include frequent sitting, standing, talking, communicating, using hands/fingers, and reaching with arms.
- Ability to lift, bend, or stoop as necessary up to 20 lbs.
