Quality Technician III - 1st Shift

About This Role

Provides technical assistance to engineering to support manufacturing efforts by implementing corrective and preventive actions. Assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to control or improve manufacturing processes.

This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our local office three days per week.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assists engineering in providing manufacturing support by reviewing and analyzing data to determine manufacturing issues and trends.
• Trains operators on processes and engineering changes, and performs operator certification on-the-job training and testing.
• Resolves and prevents manufacturing issues by assisting engineering in determining root cause and implementing corrective and preventive action.
• Reviews and dispositions non-conforming material by utilizing quality tools and by developing knowledge of manufacturing practices and procedures.
• Develops and implements process improvements by assisting engineering in researching and validating changes in processes/equipment and test methods to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time per established procedures.
• Supports process development during new product introduction by defining traceability and inspection requirements, developing statistical process control criteria, developing manufacturing instructions, and creating training sheets and certifications.
• Provides input to engineering, qualification, and validation studies and reports by collecting, compiling, measuring, organizing, and recording data, and by writing procedures.
• Conducts audits of manufacturing and related areas to assess compliance with internal procedures; reviews findings to determine compliance risk and systems issues.
• Prepares and administers reports of audit findings and participates in post-audit conferences to discuss them.
• Evaluates corrective action plans for applicability and effectiveness.
• Responsible for the final Process Monitor Release for products prior to distribution.
• Proactively audits the line to identify and escalate quality opportunities.
• Owns and/or participates in NCEPs (New Corrective/Preventive Actions).

Requirements

• High School Degree or an equivalent combination of education/work experience.
• 2 – 4 years of relevant experience required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in technical discipline (or equivalent).
• Self-starter with the ability to identify improvement opportunities.
• Able to work independently under limited supervision as well as in a team environment.
• Able to read, understand, and communicate procedural requirements.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft desktop environment: Windows and Office 365.
• NCEP ownership experience.
• Change Notice (CN) experience.

Pay

Minimum Salary: $55,432

Maximum Salary: $94,224

The anticipated compensation will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors such as experience, education, and certifications. Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation (e.g., overtime, shift differential) and annual bonus targets.
