About the Role

Join the Caterpillar North Little Rock, AR team as a Quality Technician II on our 1st shift. This role involves performing quality inspections of Motor Grader, Medium Wheel Loaders, and DV components and machines, with an emphasis on assembly and paint process inspection. You will apply Caterpillar engineering drawings, specifications, and standards to judge conformance of products.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspections of components and machines, focusing on assembly and paint processes.
  • Apply Caterpillar engineering drawings, specifications, and standards to assess product conformance.
  • Use manual measurement devices such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
  • Utilize software tools including SAP-ME, AQE, Microsoft Excel, Teamcenter (for CAD models), EPIX, PRWB, and REDI for inspections and documentation.
  • Participate in root cause and corrective action (RCCA) or 8D issue resolution processes.
  • Maintain strong communication and build positive working relationships with coworkers and customers.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in one of the following areas: Quality Inspection, Welding and Fabrication, Machining, Assembly, Paint, or Logistics.

Qualifications

Top candidates will also have:

  • Additional work experience, particularly in a manufacturing quality role.
  • Experience reading engineering drawings and Cat 1E specifications.
  • Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T).
  • Proficiency in SAP-ME, AQE, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to use Teamcenter software to open and view CAD models of Prime Product and assemblies.
  • Experience using online Caterpillar drawings (in EPIX or PRWB) and 1E Specifications (in REDI).
  • Experience with manual measurement devices (calipers, gauges, micrometers, etc.).
  • Understanding and experience with root cause and corrective action (RCCA) or 8D issue resolution processes.
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships.

Pay

Starting pay: $21.75 per hour. Pay range: $21.75 - $27.30 per hour.

Schedule

  • 1st Shift, Full Time: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Possible overtime.
