Calgon Carbon | A Kuraray Company is seeking a Quality Technician II to join our growing team at the Neville Island Plant in Pittsburgh, PA. This role contributes to providing customers with outstanding products that ensure safe air and water for future generations.

About the role

This full-time rotating shift position operates within a 24/7 facility. The Quality Technician II performs standardized laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to verify compliance with specifications. The role requires minimal supervision, a strong understanding of product specifications, and the ability to recognize and address testing discrepancies while maintaining accurate laboratory records.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with plant teams and Corporate QA to communicate product quality and analytical information, proactively resolving issues through teamwork.
• Prepare samples for analysis and conduct testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products using written procedures to ensure conformity to specifications.
• Maintain complete and accurate records of all test data and results.
• Prepare and standardize chemical solutions routinely in the laboratory.
• Identify testing discrepancies, investigate their causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Communicate problem conditions to supervisors, peers, plant teams, and Corporate QA as needed.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent certification from a 2-year college or technical school or a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification from a 4-year college or university (considered equivalent to 2-3 years of experience).
• 2-3 years of laboratory technician experience or equivalent education.
