Quality Technician I

About the Role

As a Quality Technician at Benchmark, you will verify processes and manufacturing instructions to produce quality product that meets customers’ requirements. You’ll execute established procedures to ensure quality processes and manufacturing standards, perform data collection and analysis, and contribute to process improvements across sectors including commercial aerospace, defense, advanced computing, next-generation communications, complex industrials, medical, and semiconductor capital equipment.

Responsibilities

• Complete the Quality section of the Manufacturing Readiness Review.
• Implement Quality Management Plans and monitor process control limits.
• Assist product engineers in maintaining inspection procedures, audits, and stock/floor purges.
• Support operations on process improvements and optimization.
• Assist Engineering in generating weekly and monthly inspection and test reports for Business Units.
• Review inspection and test reports for areas of process improvement.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment and troubleshoot processes/equipment.
• Inspect, measure, and test mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components and assemblies.
• Verify material conformance to specifications and interpret company and industrial specifications.
• Gather and maintain records of technical data related to materials, tools, fixtures, and processes.
• Create and maintain inspection plans, logs, and reports.
• Compile reports using information from quality, manufacturing, and research projects.
• Develop measurement processes and collect/analyze data using statistical methods.
• Communicate quality data to employees and management.
• Work on problems of limited scope, following standard practices and procedures.
• Build stable working relationships internally.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and train on new equipment as needed.

Requirements

• 0-3+ years of electronics experience.
• 2-year Engineering or Technical degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal and multitasking skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to work with diverse groups.
• Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and professionalism.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.
• Understanding of continuous improvement tools.
• Strong customer service and client focus.
• Working knowledge of productivity tools, including Microsoft Office and WebEx.
• Ability to support a 24/7 global business operation and work overtime when needed.
• Willingness to cross-train into other site operations.

Schedule

Full-time, Shift 1 (Monday–Friday, 07:30–16:00).

Pay

Compensation range: $19.62 to $22.44 USD per hour. Many factors are considered in compensation decisions, including skills, certifications, experience, training, and business needs.

Location

Winona, MN (East) – on-site position.
