Quality Technician
About the role
This position is responsible for analyzing and solving quality problems, preparing inspection plans and instructions, selecting sampling plan applications, preparing procedures, training quality inspectors, performing audits, analyzing quality costs and other quality data, and applying fundamental statistical methods for process control. This role is onsite and based in Franklin, NH, reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Responsibilities
- Support the Manufacturing team by identifying and working on process improvements, analyzing quality problems, and driving root cause and corrective action to prevent future issues.
- Perform failure analysis of customer complaints and returns, driving root cause and corrective action to prevent recurrence.
- Support Quality Engineering on the revision and preparation of internal and external Product Part Approval Process (PPAP) and First Article Inspection (FAI).
- Perform product and process audits, resolve corrective actions, and handle document control duties.
- Participate in daily Material Review Board activities to collect scrap data and address actions to reduce scrap costs.
- Communicate and prepare reports on supplier, in-process, and customer quality data and metrics.
- Support the Quality Engineer in developing and maintaining Quality Acceptance Criteria Standards and facilitate training for Manufacturing Associates.
- Coordinate Document Control activities to ensure proper release and training of revised documentation and procedures.
- Assist Quality Engineer with setting up and performing destructive and non-destructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, and material characteristics.
- Handle specific record-keeping per manufacturing needs and use Excel to chart data and analyze trends.
- Work with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Planning, Operations, and other Manufacturing functions.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the department supervisor.
- Maintain routine housekeeping to ensure the area operates within environmental and safety standards.
- Wear all required Personal Prote Equipment (PPE) and abide by safety rules.
- Report any job-related injury and/or illness immediately to your direct supervisor.
- Maintain attendance and punctuality standards as established by the company.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred with 4-5 years of related Quality experience.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience using MS Office and MRP software.

Working Conditions
While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at the Franklin, NH manufacturing facility, primarily in an office environment. You may occasionally be required to be present on the manufacturing floor and will need to wear appropriate personal protective equipment. The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.

- Ability to communicate clearly with management and coworkers, particularly in meetings or phone calls.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and copiers.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry light objects, such as office supplies, documents, or small equipment.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to physically move around the manufacturing floor.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
