About the role

This is a critical role in ensuring our quality control systems operate smoothly to deliver high-quality orthopedic implants and instruments to our customers. The Quality Technician reports to the head of Quality Management and collaborates with a broad cross-functional team within TJO: Document Control, Regulatory, Operations, Engineering, and Warehouse Staff. Additionally, the Quality Technician will engage with our Instrument, Implant, and Packaging Suppliers on a routine basis to ensure documentation, nonconformances, and corrective actions are addressed appropriately.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Quality activities for product release of production lots including creation of Lot History Records and verification of required production documentation.
  • Perform inspections of in-process implants and finished good instruments according to TJO visual and functional acceptance criteria.
  • Accurately document the results of required inspections and maintain associated records according to defined procedures and instructions.
  • Identify nonconforming product, documentation errors, or product discrepancies and work with the larger Quality team to address identified quality issues through NMRs, CAPAs, or complaints.
  • Assist in standard operating procedure and standard work development and collaborate on process improvement projects.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Perform other related assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; some post-secondary education preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience working within an ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 environment, with experience in a Quality role preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong desire to learn and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Positive team building skills with a focus on providing exceptional customer service to internal and external parties.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic file organization systems.
