About the Role
This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of products through a variety of quality tests and inspections. It involves measuring parts, verifying paint thickness, conducting visual weld inspections, completing dimensional inspections, layouts, and first article inspections, and communicating test results effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out a variety of quality tests and inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards as well as product specifications.
- Measure parts from laser, brake press, and after-welded assembly.
- Measure paint thickness and verify appearance.
- Conduct visual weld inspections.
- Complete dimensional inspections, layouts, and first article inspections.
- Analyze and interpret data, communicate test results, and perform statistical analysis when needed.
- Aid in the inspection and verification of implemented quality improvements.
- Complete and maintain all necessary and associated paperwork.
- Provide technical assistance and training in quality techniques and policies.
- Identify and support troubleshooting production problems related to parts and/or assemblies.
- Understand or learn requirements according to ISO standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Adhere to all Super Steel and OSHA safety related work rules and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Ability to handle multiple assignments while prioritizing workflow.
- A self-motivated, detail-oriented, and critical thinker.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to use basic hand tools (e.g. calipers, height gauge, tape, squares, straight edge, thread gages, bore gages).
- Ability to complete technical reports of results and issues.
- Apply general mathematics concepts to practical situations, including interpreting measurements and using measuring devices and power tools.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
