About the Role

We are seeking a Quality Technician to test and inspect incoming vendor material, customer-supplied material, final and in-process products, and components at inspection points in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect material visually and mechanically using hand tools, gauges, and optical equipment to engineering prints at receiving, in-process, and final inspection.
  • Conduct Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) related to measuring parts and the position of features.
  • Utilize a Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) for non-contact measurement.
  • Test parts on fine leak tester, hipot, capacitance meter, solder pot, and other test equipment to meet customer requirements.
  • Familiarity with AS9102 (aerospace first article requirements and reporting) and IPC 610 / J Std / Mil 883 industry standards for testing and inspection.
  • Ensure all inspection documentation is completed correctly and maintain QC logs and records.
  • Perform internal calibrations and provide calibration support as needed.
  • Verify proper documentation accompanies product shipments and package product per customer requirements.
  • Perform corrective action on rejected material and handle returned material authorizations (RMA).
  • Assist with corrective action or feedback on quality issues as a Quality team member.
  • Provide quality system and special project support as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and ability to work independently with general supervision.
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks under strict time frames.
  • Strong attention to detail, including the ability to read blueprints and drawings for machined housings and feedthroughs.
  • Ability to measure machined housings and feedthroughs using various tools.

Equipment Used

  • Inspection equipment, microscopes, magnifying lenses, drop indicators, micrometers, verniers, leak detectors, scales, gauges, optical measuring equipment.
  • Copy machine and hand tools.

Environmental Conditions

  • Manufacturing shop floor with minimal dust/dirt, varying temperatures, and vibrations.
  • Work environment includes both collaborative and independent tasks.

Dexterity Requirements

  • Hand/eye coordination, handling (holding, grasping), fingering (picking, pinching), and repetitive wrist motion (flexion/rotation).

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting: Minimal – average weight lifted < 1 pound; heaviest weight lifted while sitting < 1 pound.
  • Carrying: Minimal – average weight carried < 1 pound, up to 100 times per day.
  • Push/Pull: Minimal.
