Responsibilities
- Tests and inspects products including welded parts at various stages of production process.
- Compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
- Reviews daily supplier non-conforming parts and works with Quality Engineer for disposition.
- Communicates quality concerns or issues to production associates.
- Aids in prototype builds before shipment, including Gage R&R and safe launch checklists.
- Aids in the training of production associates for quality-related matters.
- Aids as line-side Quality Technician as needed.
- Processes daily scrap through trans4M and maintains controls of parts going in and out of the quarantine cage.
- Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
- Records test data, applying basic statistical quality control procedures (SPC, MSA/GR&R).
- Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Sets up and performs destructive and non-destructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
- Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.
- Performs dock audits per the quality plan.
- Manages LPA process audit with weekly assignments and records.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
- Five years of experience as a Quality Technician or a related role.
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk to hear.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- No specific vision abilities required.
Work Environment
- Minimum exposure to weather conditions.
- Moderate to loud assembly area noise levels.
