About the Role

We are searching for a Quality Technician within our Quality team to support our Automotive business. As the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of seating support and comfort systems for transportation manufacturers, as well as tier one and two suppliers within the automotive industry, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.

Our automotive products fall into four primary groups: Seating and Lumbar support, Motors, Actuators, and Massage Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure components used in manufacturing processes and manufactured/assembled products meet or exceed internal LPA and customer quality requirements through dimensional and physical testing or visual inspection.
  • Provide dimensional layout service to ensure component and assembly conformance to engineering and quality standards when applicable.
  • Perform gauge maintenance and calibration verification.
  • Operate and monitor assigned quality assurance and testing of components from suppliers and/or manufactured/assembled products from LPA processes at different production steps using correct assigned equipment and prescribed techniques.
  • Perform sort and/or rework activities as required per work instructions.
  • Collect data, report, and create quality reports if and as necessary according to direction from Quality Manager and/or Quality Engineering.
  • Set up and operate measurement machines from simple manual devices such as calipers and pin gages up to more complex systems such as CMM and 2D/3D imaging, and summarize/submit reports to the requester.
  • Maintain and verify measurement and test equipment, set up and verify gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies, develop and implement proper calibration and usage methods.
  • Establish and maintain gauge software systems and keep all equipment calibrated and ready to use.
  • Support Quality Engineering in problem-solving.
  • Support compliance with quality, regulatory, and customer requirements, such as IATF 16949, ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Comply with 6S standards and procedures.
  • Keep knowledge up to date on product production processes and internal/customer requirements pertaining to supplied and shipped products.
  • Fulfill responsibilities in Health & Safety as defined by legislation and the company H&S program.
  • Support a safety-first approach maintaining a zero-accident culture and ensure a safe working environment across the business.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent).
  • At least one year of experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication skills (reading, writing, and listening).
  • Knowledge of problem-solving skills.
  • Multi-tasking, strong math, and metrology technical skills are highly desired.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Fluency in English language (written and spoken).

Skills

  • When applicable, proficiency in blueprint reading and good GD&T knowledge.
  • When applicable, ability to operate systems like CMM, 2D, and 3D imaging devices.
  • College degree (or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
