Quality Technician
Perform tests on samples to establish compliance with specification and suitability for use in production and quality. Record and review results, and issue notifications for out-of-spec samples. Support the site Quality and Safety agendas, perform GMP/Housekeeping and Safety audits, monitor aging inventory, and calibrate and maintain instrumentation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct organoleptic and analytical tests at various stages of compounding and packaging to ensure compliance with standards (may include use of pH meters, HPLC, Malvern Mastersizer, and other instrumentation).
- Submit samples for microbiological testing, maintain test results, and calculate batch adjustments for certain products.
- Approve batches for packaging and conforming finished product for shipment; place non-conforming product on hold for further analysis.
- Make corresponding inventory movements in SAP.
- File and maintain retained samples.
- Calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Prepare reagents and solutions for use in testing.
- Observe conditions and practices in compounding, packaging, and finished goods storage areas; make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred.
- 2 years of related Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment.
Schedule
Full-time, 2nd shift: Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM–9:30 PM, with overtime as needed. Must have flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required.
Pay
Starting at $24.76 per hour with up to $1.00 shift differential. Rate increases to $26.12 per hour in the quarter after the 6-month anniversary.
