Description

Due to company growth, we are seeking a Quality Technician for day-to-day inspection, documenting quality issues per our process and presenting data in a statistical format. Due to the nature of this position, a qualified candidate must be able to interpret Engineering Blueprints as every aspect of inspecting our product relies on the blueprints to ensure accuracy. Breakdown of daily activities is generally as follows: 30% part inspection (on manufacturing floor), 50% assembly inspection (on manufacturing floor), 20% processing and analysis of data. Candidates should be aware that the majority of their time will be spent on the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities

Main responsibility: inspection and documentation of parts and assemblies; data collected is turned into reports used to develop training and/or process improvement strategies.
Secondary tasks may include discussing issues with engineers, calling vendors, updating SOPs, or addressing any out‑of‑the‑ordinary issues.

Requirements

Ability to follow directions and follow through in a timely, accurate manner.
Strong attention to detail.
Proficiency with MS Word and Excel (writing reports in Word, creating and using spreadsheets in Excel for analysis).
Basic math skills including fractions and decimals.
Strong ability in blueprint reading.
Ability to read and use a tape measure.
Mechanical ability/aptitude.
Prior experience using Pareto Charts preferred.
Prior experience in quality assurance preferred.
Engineering Technician experience very helpful.
Pre‑employment test to determine aptitude in these areas.

Schedule

1st Shift: 5am – 1:30pm CT (Monday to Friday) – eligible for overtime. 2nd Shift: 4pm – 12:30am CT (Monday to Friday) – eligible for overtime.
