Quality Technician

Responsibilities

• Processes typical to product verification in a machining and assembly environment
• Measurement of product against design specifications using sophisticated and basic measurement devices
• Verifying received components meet requirements prior to use
• Supporting the calibration process
• Assisting Quality Engineering establish inspection plans
• Documenting and electronically storing quality records in appropriate network locations
• Basic maintenance of inspection equipment
• Assisting with the non-conforming material process
• Supporting manufacturing personnel with their understanding of measurement techniques
• Other items as required

Qualifications

• Associate degree in technical field or equivalent technical work experience in a manufacturing environment
• 2-5 years of experience manufacturing environment that includes machining and assembly
• Knowledge of computer software programs including Microsoft Office (Word/ Excel / PowerPoint)
• Experience with sophisticated quality inspection equipment such as Coordinate Measurement Machines, Keyence, laser scanners, and experience with pin gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc.
• Experience with layout / surface plate inspection techniques
• Knowledge of statistical sampling plans
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
• Ability to interact well with all levels of personnel throughout the organization as well as suppliers and customers
• Experience working in a regulated industry with certification to AS9100 or ISO9000
• Ability to organize thoughts and prioritize work tasks based on the needs of the operation
• Be self-motivated, focused, and detail oriented with a positive attitude
