Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing through the inspection and assessment of product quality in the Venting department.
- Understand or quickly learn manufacturing technologies including:
- VAT Membrane Heat Staking
- Direct Weld Membrane Heat Staking
- MMC Cap Liner Assembly
- Follow standard test methods and techniques, inspect and test product to ensure it meets customer and product specifications, and alert production when standards are not met.
- Monitor product tracking methods (e.g., UPC, date stamps) and maintain customer samples.
- Place questionable product on hold, organize re-work if necessary, and inspect returned product while helping determine the disposition of suspect material.
- Perform 1st piece verification of all manufacturing operations and document results in an electronic database.
- Prepare routine reports, including gathering and summarizing data.
- Create Range Boards of Acceptable & Defective product to aid operators in making effective quality decisions.
- Develop procedures, work instructions, and forms to support ISO9001:2015 Quality system requirements.
- Test and verify incoming raw materials while documenting test results.
- Assist in training quality and production employees in quality assurance based on internal procedures, work instructions, and customer specification standards.
- Follow and participate in plant safe housekeeping guidelines to ensure a safe work environment and participate in GMP.
- Perform Capability and Gage R&R Studies to monitor process improvement efforts.
- Advise production personnel of quality problems and work with the Operations team to develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans.
- Work independently with minimal supervision but collaboratively with the Operations Team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of quality assurance experience.
- Ability to input and retrieve information on a computer.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills using tact and diplomacy.
- Strong attention to detail.
Skills
- Language Skills:
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Write simple correspondence.
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Mathematical Skills:
- Perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Compute rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability:
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
- Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; and vibration.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually loud; hearing protection is required.

Shift Hours: 6:45 AM - 3:00 PM
