About the role
Our Midland/Odessa Texas client is seeking a hands-on Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement Specialist to strengthen and standardize quality across a growing manufacturing operation supporting industrial customers. Working directly on the production floor, this person will partner with production leaders, technicians and cross-functional teams to build practical quality processes, improve consistency and ensure every area of the operation works to the same standard.
Responsibilities
- Implement and continuously improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System across all production areas.
- Work with production teams to establish and maintain consistent quality standards.
- Review production processes, documentation and quality data to identify gaps, trends and improvement opportunities.
- Plan and conduct internal audits and support customers, suppliers and certification audits.
- Manage NCRs and RMAs from initial identification through root-cause investigation, corrective action, verification and final closure.
- Evaluate new suppliers and maintain the approved supplier list.
- Develop, update and control quality procedures, SOPs, work instructions and production-area checklists.
- Provide management with clear reporting on quality performance, trends and recurring issues.
- Coordinate quality and safety training for production teams.
- Support Lean manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Help build a workplace culture where quality is treated as a shared responsibility across every department.
Requirements
- 4+ years of quality assurance or quality systems experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience developing and improving quality procedures, work instructions and production controls.
- Practical knowledge of ISO 9001:2015.
- Experience leading internal audits and supporting supplier, customer or certification audits.
- Strong technical writing skills, including procedures, work instructions and compliance documentation.
- Familiarity with API standards and quality requirements in an industrial or energy-related environment.
Qualifications
- An engineering or related technical degree is preferred.
- Experience with corrective action, root-cause analysis, NCRs, RMAs or supplier quality programs.
Pay
The discussed salary range is $85,000 to $100,000 depending on experience.
