About the Role
The Quality Support Technician supports the operations team by performing detailed inspections and cleaning of repaired vehicles before customer release. This role also assists in shop maintenance, including cleaning and organizing equipment and tools.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough detailing and cleaning of all vehicles prior to final delivery to the customer.
- Visually inspect every vehicle for flaws in the repaired area and promptly notify the General Manager or assigned technician of any defects or issues.
- Assist in the general maintenance of the shop location and outside grounds.
- Inspect goods or products according to quality and safety standards.
- Ensure test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.
- Utilize all required safety equipment, adhere to hazardous waste disposal requirements, and participate in monthly safety meetings.
- Maintain the proper function of all service tools and equipment in the detail department; keep personal work area organized and return tools, materials, and equipment to designated areas.
- Identify possible areas for improvement in quality control processes.
- Perform cleaning activities such as mopping, dusting, sweeping, and collecting/emptying trash cans daily.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Make minor repairs when necessary, such as changing a light bulb.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
- Prior experience in the automotive industry is strongly preferred but not required.
- Excellent verbal communication and mechanical skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to be flexible with task assignments and respond to the needs of the shop operations team.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team to meet customer and vehicle servicing objectives.
