Quality Supervisor II
About the role
Leads and manages plant-level quality systems, processes, and teams to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and 14000, and customer-specific requirements. Drives continuous improvement in product quality, manufacturing processes, supplier performance, and customer satisfaction through data-driven decision-making, root cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and 14001
- Supervise and develop quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians
- Decision maker for daily production activities guided by policies and procedures
- Cook up resources and set daily priorities to meet business objectives
- Manage internal and external audits
- Oversee manufacturing quality processes including SPC, inspection strategies, and quality gates
- Drive root cause analysis using 8D, A3, and DMAIC methodologies
- Reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and improve First Pass Yield (FPY)
- Interface with customers on quality concerns and corrective actions
- Analyze warranty and field failure data to drive improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues
- Drive continuous improvement and Lean/Six Sigma initiatives
- Lead cross-functional teams to resolve complex quality issues
- Allocate resources and set priorities aligned with production goals
- Develop team capabilities through coaching and performance management
- Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field required
5–7 years of progressive manufacturing quality experience
2 years of Team Lead, Project Leadership or Supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001
Experience in manufacturing quality within automotive or heavy-duty industries
Proficiency in root cause analysis methodologies (8D, A3, 5 Whys)
Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, SPC, and MSA
Ability to analyze and interpret quality data
Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
Qualifications
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
Experience with fuel systems or precision machined components
Strong leadership experience in a shop floor environment
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
Experience with Power BI, Minitab, or similar tools
Knowledge of warranty systems and field failure analysis
Experience with OEM customer requirements and APQP processes
