Quality Supervisor & Coordinator
Phillips-Medisize, a Molex company, is seeking a Quality Supervisor & Coordinator to drive manufacturing excellence through quality leadership, continuous improvement, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements within our Magnesium Thixomolding operations in Eau Claire, WI.
About the Role
This role combines quality expertise with team leadership to support manufacturing operations, drive process improvement, contribute to the resolution of quality issues, and develop employees. The Quality Supervisor & Coordinator partners closely with production, engineering, and support teams to ensure products consistently meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements while promoting a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and develop Quality team members to ensure effective execution of responsibilities and achievement of business objectives.
- Partner with production, engineering, and cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues, support manufacturing operations, eliminate barriers, and drive sustainable process improvements.
- Serve as the primary quality contact and escalation point for internal manufacturing quality concerns, facilitating effective communication and issue resolution across functions.
- Manage daily quality operations, including quality notifications, nonconforming material, blocked stock, and change control activities.
- Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics, leading initiatives to improve yield, reduce defects, and minimize scrap and nonconforming material.
- Ensure compliance with quality management system requirements, customer-specific requirements, and applicable standards and procedures.
- Lead strategic continuous improvement, Lean, and 6S initiatives to enhance quality performance and operational effectiveness.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of experience leading employees, projects, or continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of quality systems, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, manufacturing and customer requirements.
- Proficient in project management, data analysis and reporting.
Skills & Abilities

- Ability to prioritize work and manage projects.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Proficient in using measurement equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, and CMMs).
- Knowledge of gage R&R, capability studies, and other measurement system analysis tools.
