Quality Supervisor

About the role

The Quality Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Colfax, NC, responsible for overseeing daily quality assurance and food safety activities in a manufacturing environment. This role monitors production processes, conducts inspections, and ensures compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. The Quality Supervisor leads and trains quality technicians, reviews documentation, investigates nonconformances, and implements corrective and preventive actions. The position coordinates with operations, maintenance, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues, optimize processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Supervisor also prepares quality reports, supports audits, and promotes a culture of safety, quality, and accountability on the production floor.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily quality assurance and food safety activities in a manufacturing environment.
• Monitor production processes and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
• Lead and train quality technicians, providing clear direction and fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.
• Review documentation, investigate nonconformances, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and optimize processes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and prepare quality reports.
• Support audits and promote a culture of safety, quality, and accountability on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality assurance or quality control within food manufacturing or a similar regulated industry, including familiarity with QA procedures and inspection methods.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., HACCP, GMP, USDA/FDA guidelines) and the ability to apply them in day-to-day operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to review data, identify trends, investigate root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities to supervise and train team members.
• Effective communication and documentation skills, including the ability to write reports, maintain records, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work on-site in a manufacturing setting, including standing for extended periods, following safety protocols, and responding quickly to operational needs.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, quality tracking systems) and comfort working with production and quality data.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in food science, quality management, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
