About the role
The Quality Supervisor oversees all Quality Technicians and supports the introduction and maintenance of SMART with a focus on Quality at the Source. They are responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of a document control system, working with suppliers to ensure defect-free components, defining quality control procedures, and communicating with customers to resolve quality issues.
Responsibilities
- Direct Supervision of all Quality Technicians and handling interactions with them.
- Supports the introduction and maintenance of SMART with a focus on Quality at the Source.
- Works with suppliers to ensure defect-free components for the manufacturing process.
- Defines quality control procedures and quality standards for processes within scope to allow for Quality at the Source.
- Aids in the development and maintenance of an auditing system of processes and products that extends beyond industry association requirements.
- Documents and maintains procedures, flowcharts, etc. of quality department processes.
- Communicates with customers to understand and eliminate specific quality issues.
- Supports the development of measurement systems and communicates results for all critical aspects related to quality at the source.
- Ensures alignment of data collection and analysis with organizational quality objectives.
- Facilitates quality teams to address major opportunities, ensuring a systematic problem-solving approach that includes the Plan-Do-Study-Act method and root cause analysis.
- Assists management and supervision in providing positive and negative feedback to all manufacturing process personnel based on customer comments, internal and external measurement status, audit results, quality project status, and information identified by product returns.
- Develops and manages to departmental budget, communicates status, and recommends future needs.
- Responsible for the hiring, leadership, development, coaching, evaluation, and disciplinary actions of the departmental staff.
- Responsible for the growth and continuous improvement of both the Quality Control and Quality Improvement of all components, products, and processes pertinent to their facility as well as day-to-day leadership of assigned departmental staff.
Requirements
- Fundamental computer skills
- Working knowledge of the quality tools listed above
- Working knowledge of systematic problem solving methods
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience with general quality control requirements
- Leadership skills, assertiveness, initiative, planning/organizing, and follow-up/monitoring
- Experience with ISO, Poke-a-Yoke, and extensive SPC is a plus

Pay
Salary range: $65,000 - $85,000 annually
