Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Plan and assign work of Quality Inspectors and Technicians.
- Aid in maintaining customer satisfaction using plant quality assurance methods.
- Review product quality issues through direct communication with Quality Department Employees to ensure their knowledge of changes in procedures and standards.
- Respond immediately to quality concerns within or outside the plant addressing the defect, cause, resolution, and verification used to correct the concern (8D).
- Serve as a cross functional team member with tasks such as Control Plan’s, FMEA’s, 8D’s and SPC.
- Maintain an 8-D / corrective action log on supplier rejections.
- Assists in maintaining the Gage room and the distribution of measuring equipment as well as calibration requirements.
- Suggests and implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase safety and efficiency of the department or plant.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Maintains discipline, morale and harmonious relations among direct reports.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Associates Degree in Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience. 3 plus years of work experience in quality assurance. Experience in automotive seating.
- Competencies: Technical Capacity, Performance Management, Leadership, Computer Proficiency, Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel including customers & suppliers, APQP, SPC, FMEA, & 8D Problem Solving, Blueprint Reading, GD&T skills, Problem Solving/Analysis, Confidentiality, Supervisory Responsibility.
