Responsibilities
- Direct the activities of the Quality Control Laboratory, including training and supervising all lab personnel and relieving all laboratory job functions.
- Work with customers to resolve any issues or complaints regarding the cement quality or delivery of the final product.
- Generate mill tests, letters of certification, and bond quarry acreage.
- Generate plant daily material reports and maintain quality records.
- Must be actively involved in safety by investigating and reporting on accidents involving employees and equipment.
- Promote and enforce safe working practices and good housekeeping, and maintain laboratory equipment in working order.
- Oversee proper mix changes, schedule departments, and adhere to Internal Quality Objectives.
- Maintain current knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and related plant policies.
- Seek opportunities to promote and instill an attitude of cost and profit consciousness among all employees.
- Perform analysis, testing, and prepare special reports as assigned by the Quality Manager.
- Compile the annual budget for the Laboratory.
- Work with State DOT for cement approval and Federal Agencies to certify lab procedures and equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related Technical Discipline
- 3-5 years in an industrial environment preferred
- Strong technical background with excellent interpersonal skills

Requirements
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or a related Technical Discipline. Prior experience in an industrial environment is preferred, with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
