Quality Specialist ( Full-Time, Days)

Pivotal role driving performance improvement to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety. Supports development of annual quality and safety goals, analyzes performance data, and facilitates improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to identify, design, implement, and evaluate quality improvement projects and initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and clinical processes.
• Facilitate agenda planning and coordination at quality committees.
• Liaise with leadership to provide standard updates on key quality and safety initiatives.
• Lead quality improvement teams using improvement science and guide identification of areas for improvement.
• Represent aligned areas in quality and safety matters at regional and system quality meetings.
• Partner with aligned area leadership to ensure progress on key quality performance improvement projects.
• Participate and collaborate with performance improvement teams.
• Provide recommendations to senior leadership on quality-related metrics and activities.
• Partner with operational and clinical leadership to develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
• Regularly utilize statistical and analytical tools to analyze quality data and provide reports identifying trends and areas for improvement.
• Perform data obtainment and collaborate on accurate data analysis.
• Use data-driven insights to recommend areas for improvement.
• Produce comprehensive visuals, reports, and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor metrics for externally reported quality programs (Leapfrog, CMS Stars, CMS P4P, Excellus HPIP, QAPI goals, PCMH, etc.).
• Report on business area progress in achieving quality-related goals, identifying areas of excellence and improvement.
• Partner with leadership to ensure activities comply with regulatory standards.
• Lead quality coordination for regulatory visit compliance, quality standards, and preparations for audits and surveys.
• Ensure measures align with designations to enhance outcomes.
• Liaison with system regulatory and quality colleagues on internal audit planning and completion.
• Stay up-to-date with updates to regulations and requirements relevant to quality.
• Collaborate with system resources on facilitation and delivery of key training programs.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements and trends in healthcare quality and performance improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare management, nursing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare, quality improvement, or a related field.
• For those with a BSN, a valid NYS Registered Nurse License is required.

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work – exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. Involves sitting most of the time but may require walking or standing for brief periods.

Pay

$75,000.00 - $100,000.00
