Quality Sorter-1st Shift

About the Role
Perform day-to-day sorting and GP12 activities. Shift schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM–2:30 PM. Overtime and weekends based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist in sorting non-conforming or on-hold material.
- Assist in GP-12 marking, tagging, and inspection activities.
- Record results from sort/GP-12 activities.
- Ensure proper labeling of certified/GP-12 product.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sort/GP-12 area.
- Maintain safety and quality standards in the workplace.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Quality experience in a metal stamping environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of ISO/TS16949:2002 quality system.
- Basic knowledge of production processes (preferred but not required).
- Computer proficiency, including MS Office, Outlook, and internet tools; database and spreadsheet experience required.
- Ability to read and operate quality measuring instruments: micrometer, scale, calipers, height gauges, and other basic inspection tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a steady-paced team environment.
- Ability to manage time in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving and effective communication skills.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
The role involves regular sitting, talking, hearing, and data entry. Frequent use of hands, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Occasional lifting/moving up to 50 pounds. Requires close vision, repetitive tasks, and attention to detail.
Work is performed in a shop environment with exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes, noise, and variable temperatures. Protective equipment is provided, and full compliance is required. Noise levels are mostly loud. Employees may be subject to random drug/alcohol testing, pre-employment physicals, and background checks.
