Quality Senior
Job Overview
The Quality Senior is responsible for monitoring wood parts during manufacturing to ensure the parts meet all the performance specifications and customer quality requirements while supporting overall production goals. This is a hybrid role that spends approximately 60% of the time on the production floor, providing hands-on support through machine operation, training, mentoring, resolving quality related issues, and using quality data and experience to guide production decisions and actions that drive improvement. The remaining 40% of the time is dedicated to upholding quality control through in-process quality audits and maintaining controlled documentation and measurement devices.
Responsibilities
- Perform designated audits and inspections following department audit schedule, including Control Plan Audits, assisting with tooling checks, calibration checks, finished product inspections and assisting with process audits.
- Provide manufacturing support pertaining to quality related subjects, such as non-conforming materials or parts, with assistance from senior quality members or technicians as needed.
- Understand and interpret audit and calibration results with the ability to communicate findings to production associates, trainers, and floor management; elevating to senior quality members and technicians as needed.
- Assist with on-the-floor training and communication of quality specifications, measurement devices, and procedures.
- Support production efforts by taking on key roles within the department, engaging directly within production processes to gain a practical understanding of tasks and operational challenges to overcome, using the experience to support team goals and contribute to the consistent output of high-quality products.
Qualifications
- A High School degree or GED preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment or prior quality experience preferred.
- Enjoy flexibility and have strong communication skills.
