Quality Program Manager-RN

About the Role

The Quality Program Manager-RN is responsible for developing and implementing the Quality and Performance Improvement Program for assigned services and locations. This includes partnering to create and organize annual and multi-year plans to ensure quality, patient safety, regulatory readiness, and adherence to specific care setting standards. The role provides expertise in clinical knowledge and top national and regional performance to guide planning, performance assessment, and best practices in the clinical domain.

Responsibilities

• Directs activities related to the Quality Program, ensuring initiatives, projects, and activities are completed within established timeframes.
• Performs ongoing performance analysis to identify clinical outcome and other improvement opportunities.
• Develops components of the QAPI and other regulatory requirements.
• Conducts analysis using techniques such as apparent and common cause analysis, RCA analysis, descriptive statistics, and value stream mapping.
• Transforms data and information into quality analyses, including pareto and driver diagrams, visual displays, and graphs to present complex information in usable formats.
• Develops routine reporting to assess the effectiveness of performance improvement projects and interventions, as well as ad hoc reporting using QM tools like tracers and dashboards.
• Uses tools such as Epic chart and chart review to assess the quality and safety of care and design improvement solutions.
• Oversees performance improvement, analysis, and reporting for projects and activities in the assigned area.
• Develops recommendations based on research and findings for appropriate actions by departments or organizational committees.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS).
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, or obtained within five (5) years from the initial date of hire; RN with 15+ years of service may be considered in lieu of education agreement.
• Advanced Degree in Nursing (MSN, PhD, DNP, ARNP) preferred.
• Relevant certification in the specialty area preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in a professional or technical role/function in a healthcare or related setting as applicable to a clinical specialty/service line.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in a quality, regulatory readiness, performance improvement, or patient safety role.
• Consideration of equivalency of prior nurse or clinical supervisory or management roles.
• Internal candidates’ experience and performance may be considered in lieu of education and experience.
• Expected to be competent/proficient in one domain of quality (e.g., Patient Safety, ACRR, Peer/Physician Quality, Quality Metrics and Reporting, Clinical Analytics, Clinical Pathways).

Pay

The pay scale for this position is $121,118.40 - $197,579.20 USD. Pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will reflect the appropriate step on the pay scale based on the applicant’s years of experience.
