Quality Planning Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a professional to join our team at the Röchling Automotive Duncan, SC location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, verifying, and updating PFMEA, CP, and Operator Instructions; performing process, product, and roving audits; and supporting production with problem solving and decision making.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, verify and update PFMEA, CP, and Operator Instructions.
• Perform process, product, and roving audits to ensure compliance with CP.
• Maintain SPC parameter selection, review, and monitoring.
• Submit PPAP and obtain customer approvals including Engineering Change.
• Facilitate customer and plant APQP processes for quality-related items.
• Conduct problem root cause analysis and resolution using 5Y analysis and 8D reporting.
• Analyze failures and customer returns.
• Support Production Department with problem solving, decision making, and creation of border samples.
• Create and validate Error Proofing within Production Processes.
• Disposition suspect parts held for QE review (control of non-conforming parts).
• Disposition customer rejections and charge back, review and control using SAP.
• Enter customer complaint reports into SAP system and create 8D in SAP as applicable.
• Train Quality Technicians and Quality Auditors.
• Develop Gage Concepts, Measurement Plans and Gage Instructions.
• Other duties as defined by Quality Planning Manager.

Requirements

• Education: Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related fields.
• Experience: Minimum 4 years in related position in automotive industry.
• Skills: Working knowledge of customers portals, strong corrective action background, knowledge of injection molding/blow molding process, strong understanding of mechanical principles and fundamentals, proficiency in quality tools and methodologies, knowledge of product and process development and optimization, strong customer service orientation, skilled in problem identification, analysis, and resolution, effective coordination and communication skills, ability to collaborate and work effectively within team environments, strong teamwork and cooperative mindset.
