Quality & Patient Safety Specialist - Oncology

Responsibilities

• Lead quality and patient safety initiatives by consulting with internal departments and key stakeholders.
• Develop and enhance programs that uphold enterprise-wide standards for patient care and safety.
• Collaborate with clinical teams, service lines, and leadership—including VPs, SVPs, and Department Chairs—to guide performance improvement and ensure alignment with QAPI standards.
• Manage relevant information from databases, reports and documents by evaluating and integrating evidenced based practice.
• Research, collect, and analyze internal and external data and provide graphical displays to inform strategic decisions and elevate care delivery.
• Identify sentinel events and serious adverse outcomes and assure root cause analysis of unanticipated negative outcomes.
• Facilitate quality and performance improvement meetings, quality committee meetings, and Risk Management meetings.
• Abstract and analyze complex medical data related to stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry in compliance with Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) standards.
• Create clear, impactful visualizations—charts, graphs, dashboards—that communicate insights and drive action.

Qualifications

• You’re a clinician with a strong foundation in hematology and oncology, and you’re ready to expand your impact beyond the bedside. Whether you're a nurse, pharmacist, PA, or MD, your clinical background gives you the insight to interpret complex transplant data—and the drive to improve outcomes through quality and performance initiatives.
• This position is based out of our corporate office in Midtown Manhattan with possible travel to any of our NYP sites and will be full-time Monday to Friday. Hybrid Schedule includes 4 days in office and 1 day remote.
• Preferred Criteria: Master's degree in a related field, such as Public Health; Clinical Licensure (RN, PA, NP, MD, or PharmD); Minimum of 3 years of experience in transplantation; Experience in Hematology / Oncology; Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); Strong data analytics skills.
• Required Criteria: Bachelor's degree; 5+ years of experience in healthcare, preferably in Quality and Performance Improvement; Advanced skills with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other web-based applications; Familiarity with quality and performance improvement methods.

Pay

$123,500-$161,000/Annual
