Data Quality Specialist- Oncology

About the role

The primary responsibility for this role involves accurate and concurrent data entry and management utilized for research, reporting, maintaining certifications, accreditations, and quality improvement activities within Oncology Services.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain databases including design, documentation, extraction, and deletion.
• File management and testing to ensure data integrity and efficient processes for data collection, entry, and retrieval.
• Maintain security and confidentiality of patient/protocol information.
• Preparation for, monitoring and maintaining data/processes related to cancer accreditations.
• Works in collaboration with others to optimize data management and functionality/reporting of quality improvement processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Health Information Systems or other health related field.
• State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in data management or related field.

Skills

• Experience with medical terminology.
• Experience with the oncology population.
• Knowledge of and/or capability of standard computer systems including manipulating large information sets.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Must be able to work as part of a collaborative team.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems, prioritize tasks, and deal with frequent interruptions/requests effectively.
