Responsibilities
Coordinates the development, implementation, review, and revision of disease specific standards, policies, procedures, and protocols. Co-chairs relevant disease specific committees related to quality improvement and regulatory adherence while driving process improvement and patient outcomes.
Responsible for accessing the complete Electronic Health Record (EHR), along with all available EHR generated reports. Reviews patient histories involving past illnesses, treatment locations, and diagnoses to facilitate conducting quality assurance for the provision of documented patient care. Performs quality assurance practices related to the provision of patient care and patient outcomes according to established internal protocols based on evidence based best practice guidelines.
Produces data reports related to specific patient populations for hospital clinical departments and for regulatory bodies in collaboration with members of the interdisciplinary care team. Required to have basic knowledge of quality control procedures and practices within a hospital environment.
Responsible for preparing quality reports related to the care of specific patient population for hospital clinical departments and for regulatory bodies in collaboration with members of the interdisciplinary care team. Must have knowledge and understanding of clinical pathways or guidelines. Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements and standards is preferred.
Experience Required
- 3-5 years clinical experience with preference for experience with assigned patient population(s) to be overseen.
- Prefers experience with performance improvement concepts and/or quality requirements & best practices related to assigned patient population such as disease specific certification.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and/or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
Licenses/Certifications Required
- Current NJ RN licensure required.
- RN certification preferred, especially CPHQ.
