About the role

The Quality/Operations Assistant supports production, quality, and supply chain activities by ensuring accurate ERP data entry, maintaining precise inventory and batch records, and facilitating smooth order processing. This role plays a key part in maintaining data integrity, tracking performance metrics, and supporting continuous improvement across operations in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of data from production and customer orders into the ERP system.
  • Execute ERP transactions including material consumption, Report as Finished (RAF) entries, inventory movements, and corrections.
  • Maintain accurate batch records, including quantities, status, and related documentation.
  • Verify the accuracy of ERP system transactions completed by employees and ensure compliance with current requirements.
  • Identify and correct discrepancies in material consumption, packaging information, quantities, and inventory records.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain production-related documentation, including batch tickets and inventory adjustments.
  • Print labels and batch tickets for production orders and ensure that label information aligns with order details and product specifications.
  • Monitor ongoing operational and system issues, document their resolutions, and report them to supervisors.
  • Document root causes of recurring issues and record corrective actions taken to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Escalate critical or recurring operational and system issues to appropriate stakeholders when necessary.
  • Prepare periodic reports in agreed formats and within established timelines to support operations and quality tracking.
  • Track and report key performance metrics and system performance issues to support continuous improvement.
  • Act as a liaison between Quality, Production, and Supply Chain to ensure consistent communication and data alignment across departments.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience working with ERP systems, with a preference for Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
  • Strong understanding of data accuracy, reconciliation, and quality control principles.
  • Proficiency in data entry and order entry with high attention to detail and low error rates.
  • Experience with inventory administration, including tracking, adjustments, and documentation.
  • Ability to verify and validate transactional data and resolve discrepancies in a structured manner.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing batch records, tickets, and production documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively as a liaison between quality, production, and supply chain teams.
  • Ability to distinguish colors accurately; candidates must not be colorblind.

Qualifications

  • Background in operations, inventory control, or administrative support within a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and documentation in production environments.
  • Experience working with labels, packaging specifications, and batch ticket systems.
  • Comfort preparing periodic performance and operations reports in standardized formats.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly report issues, document root causes, and share corrective actions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an inclusive, team-oriented environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing environment with close collaboration between Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams. Typical working hours are on a day shift with flexible options such as 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position involves regular use of an ERP system, handling batch tickets, labels, and production documentation.

Schedule

  • Day shift with flexible hours: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Contract to Hire position based in Bensenville, IL.
  • Fully onsite role.

Pay

$22.00 - $24.00/hour.
