About the role

HII Mission Technologies’ New Nuclear Division seeks a Manager, Quality 2 to lead quality assurance activities supporting advanced nuclear programs. This role oversees quality engineering, compliance, and inspection functions to ensure nuclear programs meet stringent regulatory, customer, and internal quality requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality policies and procedures are followed in assigned location.
  • Monitor work operations on a daily basis and assist or provide direction as required to managers.
  • Provide training and inspections as required.
  • Execute department procedures.
  • Responsible for daily operations of team or work unit.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant progressive experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or 4+ years with a Master's degree in a related field; or 10+ years with a High School diploma and relevant experience.
  • Direct experience with commercial nuclear quality programs and manufacturing of structural steel components.
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, audits, root cause analysis methods, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience interpreting and applying standards such as NQA-1, ISO 9001, or similar.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience developing or maintaining controlled documentation and participating in structured review processes.
  • The ability to travel, work onsite, and meet shift requirements. Candidate will work onsite at a subcontractor facility. The first 2-4 months require additional travel to multiple facilities.

Bonus points for having!

  • Applying standards and understanding NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21.
  • Experience in nuclear manufacturing, nuclear construction, shipbuilding, or commercial nuclear environments.
  • Certifications such as ASQ CQE, CQA, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

Job performance may require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above floor level.

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this role is $102,557.00 - $124,533.00.

The schedule is flexible and may vary based on the project requirements.
