Responsibilities
Oversee implementation and maintenance of quality systems and ensure customer satisfaction with final product.
Manage new product launches and customer improvements including process, prints, completing validation plans, and ensuring accuracy of work instructions.
Plan, schedule, and oversee layout room activities, and oversee personnel.
Oversee part quality on the line, as well as overall final product quality, and prioritize and address customer issues.
Maintain process and plans for quality audits, as well as control documents and quality data, and facilitate annual external quality audit.
Provide briefing on quality issues at daily production meeting and prepare reports on quality data and KPIs.
Oversee development of gauges for new products.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent foreign degree.
- 3 years of experience in a Product Development, Quality, or Maintenance Engineering role in the manufacturing industry.
- Must have 3 years of work experience with each of the following:
- meeting customer specific quality requirements related to steel manufacturing,
- overseeing customer scorecard performance and non-conformity management,
- acting as an internal auditor for steel components and crankshaft production,
- managing end-to-end customer quality for major automotive clients from product development through serial production,
- submitting PPAP documentation to ensure successful new product introductions that adhere to quality standards,
- driving continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma principles to enhance quality process in steel manufacturing and machining for crankshafts.
Pay
$99,986 to $118,000 per year.

The Quality Manager - Machining position is within thyssenkrupp Crankshaft Company, LLC in Danville, Illinois. thyssenkrupp integrated its Forging & Machining and Undercarriage businesses to start the new business unit Forged Technologies. With roughly 7,000 employees at 18 production sites in seven different countries, thyssenkrupp Forged Technologies has sales of over one billion euros and operates over 50 forging press lines and more than 150 machining and assembly lines in seven countries.
