About the role

The Quality Manager will plan, organize, and implement the MasTec Industrial Quality Program during the execution of construction projects. This position is eligible for mobilization support and includes one longer weekend every four weeks for additional time at home.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in constructability reviews and task planning
  • Handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and manage deadlines
  • Produce quality work, meeting requirements of company policies, procedures, and industry standards
  • Represent MasTec Industrial in a professional manner in all client interaction activities
  • Provide contract required reports to the client
  • Understand and implement MasTec Industrial’s Corporate Quality Manual and assist with efforts in developing site-specific quality plans
  • Identify needs for implementing ITP’s (Inspection and Test Plans) and coordinate with Sr Quality management in development of ITPs
  • Support or lead quality training meetings, onboardings, and sessions
  • Support craft superintendent with site-specific quality consumables
  • Ensure Quality metrics are compiled and submitted weekly
  • Participate in stretch/flex and morning gang box meetings
  • Report nonconforming and rework events and participate in Incident Investigation and Corrective Action
  • Conduct and lead meetings, both internally and externally, in a professional manner
  • Provide on-the-job training to Quality managers, Quality Inspectors, and Operations personnel
  • Manage direct reports as applicable, including Quality Inspectors, Administrative personnel, and site Survey teams

Qualifications

  • Minimum of seven years of quality experience in construction or operations with exposure to civil, electrical, mechanical, pipeline/oil/gas, industrial, and welding activities
  • Extensive working knowledge and ability to proficiently navigate and interpret ASME codes, AWS codes, AISC, ASNT, NEC, NFPA, NBIC, and ACI regulations
  • AWS CWI required, alternate certifications may be considered
  • Ability to work with Project Quality Sponsors to execute Code work utilizing Mastec’s ASME Code Stamps
  • Prior proven experience leading projects and teams in an Industrial setting
  • Extreme proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams, and Power Point
  • Demonstrated experience with construction management software platforms
  • Proven capabilities with Bluebeam Revu, Smartsheet, and InEight software (preferred)

Skills

  • Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and document quality-related issues and activities
  • Effective presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and productively, ensuring resources assigned to the project are adequate and properly trained
  • Self-motivated and capable of taking initiative
  • Apply critical thinking skills to establish effective corrective actions for causal factors of quality incidents
  • Diplomatic skills for addressing Quality and Safety issues with both internal and external parties
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

Physical Demands

Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions. May need to maintain physical strength and stamina, push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb to perform job tasks.

Pay

Competitive pay: $100,000 - $130,000 with ongoing performance review and merit increase

Schedule

This is a traveling, project-based position, up to 90% of the time, with the potential to be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the US. You’ll spend 8-18 months on average per project.
