About the Role
The Quality Manager will direct and supervise a team involved in inspection and quality control procedures for purchased material, in-process material, and finished products to ensure quality standards are achieved. This position oversees internal and consumer repairs, RMAs, and the Model Shop, including collaboration projects (e.g., Tony Bose, Bill Ruple).
Responsibilities
- Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service.
- Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
- Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and technical integrity.
- Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.
- Formulate, document, and maintain quality control standards and ongoing control objectives.
- Develop and implement quality standards for new product launches.
- Coordinate objectives with production procedures to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
- Create, document, and implement inspection criteria and procedures (incoming, in-process, and outgoing).
- Oversee inspection activity for products throughout the production cycle.
- Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
- Maintain an active role on internal continuous improvement teams.
- Design, develop, and implement quality control training programs.
- Oversee established calibration and testing programs.
- Lead the general oversight of keystone business units: Case Repair Center (internal and consumer), RMA Department, and Model Shop.
- Plan for the Model Shop, including prioritizing product samples, maintaining quality of new designs, and assessing processes for improvement.
- Plan for the Case Repair Center to meet fluctuating demands and balance relationships between Consumer Relations and the repair team.
- Direct the Case Repair Center and RMA Department to address production quality issues, collaborating with relevant teams to modify processes for improvement.
- Improve and assess costs associated with business operations, including repair costs and operational efficiency for new products.
- Build and maintain relationships between business segments: Case Repair Center, Model Shop, and RMA Department.
- Maintain the quality of production for new product samples and designs.
- Manage workflow and production for collaborations (e.g., Tony Bose, Bill Ruple) through scheduling, sampling, and production.
- Develop and implement process improvements for keystone business units.
- Manage workloads and processes for Repair, RMA, Model Shop, and collaborations.
- Troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Conduct factory tours as needed.
- Speak with customers regarding repair issues or complaints and provide professional support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in Quality Control in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of five years of supervisory/management experience.
- Proficiency in developing and documenting procedures.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); knowledge of AX or D365 is a plus.
This is a salaried exempt, full on-site position located in Bradford, PA.
