Responsibilities
- Aid project teams in creating and executing project-specific Quality Management Plans (QMPs).
- Support project teams in adhering to contract documents and ensuring constructability and accuracy.
- Assess and extract critical quality elements from construction documents, submittals, and other project documents to develop QMPs.
- Collaborate with project teams to define roles and responsibilities for scheduling inspections, managing the inspection process, and participating in inspection walks.
- Lead and participate in quality-related project meetings such as pre-installation meetings, preconstruction meetings, kick-off meetings, mock-up review meetings, first-work inspections, subcontractor weekly syncs, specification reviews, and owner progress meetings.
- Inspect and document the quality of work performed by project teams and communicate findings to project teams and regional leadership.
- Ensure project teams comply with quality requirements and expectations by interfacing with architects, engineers, and owner representatives.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of project teams in implementing and executing QMPs and suggest areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 to 20+ years of experience in the construction industry.
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management, Construction Technology.
- Preferred experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Risk Management Systems (RMS).
- Proficiency in construction means and methods, work sequencing, and field operations.
- Understanding of quality processes and protocols, ability to develop project-specific written quality plans, and integration with quality-related technology.
- Ability to clarify process expectations, set goals, and performance metrics, explore root causes, foster team collaboration, and manage time effectively.
- Experience in teaching, training, coaching, and facilitating with an adaptable and flexible approach.
- Respect as a competent construction quality professional, ability to connect and work with others, establish clarity and focus, drive self-motivation, and value personal and organizational development.
- Proficiency in risk analysis and mitigation, effective written and oral communication, strategic development, and process refinement.
- Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn software programs used by the project team (e.g., Touchplan, Procore, Autodesk, Bluebeam, etc.).
