About the role

Safety is the Company’s number one priority and Quality is a key driver for the business. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the safety and quality of products, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the safety of themselves and colleagues through safety observations/audits during plant visits and shares findings and recommendations with plant leadership team.
  • Maintains Quality and Hygiene management systems and facilitates internal and external audits.
  • Works with other departments to prepare internal policies, procedures, and work instructions, and collaborates with external customers and suppliers to agree and prepare standards and specifications.
  • Directly involved in handling customer complaints, working with Sales, QC, and Production colleagues to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborates with Purchasing and Suppliers to ensure that investigations lead to robust corrective actions.
  • Liaises with Customer, Sales, Technology, and Production teams to implement new products, product improvements, and cost reduction programs.
  • Demonstrates superior use of data, root cause analysis, and lean tools to improve quality and eliminate waste.
  • Analyzes customer feedback to identify trends and provides continuous improvement suggestions.
  • Facilitates the setting of plant quality objectives and trains, coaches, and mentors Quality personnel and other departments on quality tools and processes.
  • Produces daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports using meaningful KPIs and scorecards.
  • Represents Quality in the management team of the plant.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment.
  • High degree of analytical skills with excellent communication.
  • Experience in leadership/management.
  • Knowledge of SPC and control cards.
  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and email.
  • Experience in customer complaint management software.
  • Experience with 8D, Ishikawa, and 5 Whys.
  • Desirable: Six Sigma Green Belt, familiarity with APQP.

Qualifications and Knowledge Required

  • Degree in a Technical/Manufacturing or Business subject.
  • ISO9001/14001 experience.
  • Desirable: Experience in a fast-moving manufacturing environment, NEBOSH qualified, experience with BRC/IOP food or food packaging requirements, TS 16949 OR IATF 16949 experience.
