About the role
The Quality Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, and product standards for various industries.
Responsibilities
- Guidance and leadership of the Quality Assurance team to support industry-leading product quality.
- Full responsibility for the quality department's budget and influencing site improvements through projects and CAPEX.
- High degree of general business acumen in quality, leading and managing Quality activities with strategic and tactical management of new and ongoing projects.
- Excellent communication skills for managing conflict resolution with both suppliers and customers.
- Experience in healthcare/medical fields is viewed as a strong benefit.
- Effective leadership resulting in a highly trained and motivated workforce that collaborates with R&D, Technology, and Operations.
- People - Coaching and creation of working processes to maximize team success.
- Manage department personnel including hiring, promotions, recognition, and performance management.
- Plans, directs, and monitors performance objectives of department personnel.
- Maintains effective organization and harmonious work relations; ensures personnel are properly qualified and trained and activities are performed in compliance with ISO systems and EHS policies.
- Resource Deployment - Establishes budgets and meets cost objectives in materials and labor; deploys assets to resolve product quality issues.
- Develops and leads efforts to maintain ISO 9001 certification; develops and directs engineering projects, including implementation of capital investments for cost savings.
- Planning - Capital Project planning, research, justification, execution, and reporting utilizing the annual budget; Departmental expenses management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a Technical discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Polymer).
- Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years' experience in management and extensive experience managing ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Experience in Quality Assurance preferred in the wet processing and laminating industry.
- 10+ years' experience serving customers in highly regulated fields such as healthcare, automotive, aerospace.
- 5+ years' experience in metrology and design/use of inspection systems, especially in the films processing industry.
- 5+ years' experience with web-based processes (metalizing, coating & laminating, slitting).
- Knowledgeable of OSHA requirements, strong commitment to safety practices & principles.
- Familiarity with PPAP.
- Experience with healthcare related QA procedures: IQ / OP / PQ.
- Expertise with SAP.
- Expertise with DMAIC and other six sigma tools.
- Quality Management Certification.
- Led Auditor Certification.
- Lean / Sigma Certification.
