About the Role
Assist ENA facilities with the implementation of global production quality standards and systems to ensure products meet company standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. Process escalations to the satisfaction of external customers and internal needs, ensuring the application of lessons learned from prior escalations.
Responsibilities
- Provides expert knowledge and acts as the business unit (BU) contact person for implementation of global production standards and processes across all BUAM facilities.
- Provides training and competence development related to Quality Basics and Problem Solving.
- Supports the development of global standards for shop floor quality in international teams by collecting best-practice solutions.
- Participates in the global quality network for shop floor quality (production quality).
- Supports escalations on production or supply performance.
- Provides expert knowledge and acts as the BU contact person for quality escalations.
- Develops standards and guidance for quality escalations in alignment with affected global functions.
- Acts as support and, if necessary, takes the lead for formal customer escalations.
- Acts as support and, if necessary, takes the lead for quality escalations related to field risks.
- Leads customer relations at the management level during escalations.
- Ensures timely information flow between plants, BU, affected global functions, and the legal and insurance departments during escalations.
- Ensures the exchange and application of "Lessons Learned" between BU and plants as an outcome of escalations.
- Monitors and drives the status of "Early Quality Alerts."
- Standardizes methods for inspection according to global guidelines and best practices.
- Audits work instructions at BUAM production facilities to ensure standardized work sheets and related measuring equipment are available and meet requirements (e.g., GR&R studies).
- Performs regular process audits to ensure adherence to standardized work and control plans on production lines.
- Ensures necessary quality records are maintained in accordance with control plan requirements and quality basics.
- Supports production facilities in implementing quality basics (planning, training, implementation, and audits to confirm compliance).
- Communicates and drives lessons learned and continuous improvements from problem-solving activities to other manufacturing plants for similar programs, processes, and products.
- Reviews quality indicators for all BUAM facilities to ensure they are well-tracked and show positive trends.
- Ensures BUAM production facilities comply with IATF 16949 requirements.
- Conducts business activities within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in science, engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of five years of related work experience in the automotive quality field.
- Minimum of five years’ experience working for a manufacturing automotive supplier.
- Ability to travel domestically by car or plane.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Working knowledge of AIAG quality requirements (APQP, FMEA, control plans, PPAP, SPC, MSA).
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements.
