About the role
This position leads and directs a team overseeing the Quality Management System, including the development, setting, and enforcement of procedures, policies, and standards affecting product quality. The role is accountable for ensuring finished goods meet company and customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Manage programs and activities of the quality department.
- Work with Organizational Quality leadership and Manufacturing Management to ensure all manufacturing and Quality Assurance procedures are performed and metrics are on target.
- Oversee personnel activities, including hiring, termination, performance goals, and training for quality personnel.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and administration of quality specifications and systems.
- Monitor and report on progress against quality metrics and goals.
- Visit customers and suppliers as necessary.
- Manage all activities associated with internal and external audits.
- Oversee the customer complaint and reject process to ensure accurate root cause analysis, timely response, and corrective actions.
- Monitor site quality and food safety metrics, developing countermeasures as needed.
- Work with manufacturing to ensure product conformance through documented process monitoring and process controls.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BS Degree (preferred in a technical area) plus five (5) years of leadership experience in Quality/Manufacturing, or ten (10) years of relevant experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of quality concepts and principles.
- Prior audit experience and knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP, and GFSI required.
- Strong data management skills preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of fact-based decision-making and analytical processes related to quality management and process improvement.
- Effective coaching, training, and facilitating experience.
- Solid working knowledge of quality processes and related manufacturing.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, Teams, and Outlook.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
- Exceptional time management and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentations) for interacting with executive leadership, staff, and internal/external clients.
- Proactive with sound judgment and decision-making; able to identify problems and develop solutions.

Pay
$80,000–$100,000 based on experience.
