Responsibilities
- Sustain and improve the quality management system to support compliance, standardization, and organizational capability.
- Aid in the development and standardization of ISO 9001 based QMS procedures, work instructions, and quality records.
- Oversee quality processes across receiving, QA testing, calibration, field returns, and production floor activities.
- Cook up root cause analysis with cross-functional teams and drive corrective actions, preventive actions, and process improvements.
- Partner with leadership to identify process improvement opportunities, improve efficiency, and validate manufacturing capabilities.
- Manage the receiving inspection process, including sampling plans, gauging requirements, inspection standards, and trend reporting.
- Maintain strong production floor presence through Gemba walks, Kaizen activity, quality testing, and hands-on troubleshooting.
- Serve as the voice of quality for customers while presenting findings and conclusions to cross-functional teams.
- Prepare technical documentation, including procedures, work instructions, visual aids, quality reports, and graphical summaries.
- Support new product line launches by learning the product, troubleshooting issues, and partnering with production employees.
- Provide quality leadership and guidance as business needs change, including limited travel to customers and related businesses.
Qualifications
- Necessary Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related technical field.
- CQA, CQE, or related quality certification or training preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant quality management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience or strong background in ISO 9001 based quality management systems, procedures, work instructions, quality records, receiving inspection, QA testing, and calibration.
- Strong background in root cause analysis, corrective action, preventive action, process improvement, and quality tools such as control charts.
- Hands-on experience in high mix, low volume manufacturing or build to order production environments.
- Electronics background through professional experience, academics, or military experience strongly preferred.
- Leadership experience required for candidates without a formal engineering degree.
- Lean training, Gemba walk experience, and Kaizen production floor involvement preferred.
- Strong technical writing skills for procedures, work instructions, reports, and visual aids.
- Strong Excel, Word, Project, Visio, and PowerPoint skills.
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis with the ability to present conclusions graphically.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with production, warehouse, customer success, R&D, and leadership teams.
- Spanish comprehension preferred.
- Ability to work with teams across the US, Canada, and Israel as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel approximately 10%.
- Ability to identify colors accurately, read small print, pass a visual acuity exam, and occasionally bend, lift, or maneuver at least 25 pounds.
