Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate hospital-wide infection prevention efforts to ensure compliance with state, federal, and regulatory standards
- Serve as a consultant to staff, providers, and leadership on infection control best practices
- Develop and deliver education for employees, physicians, and patients on infection prevention topics
- Conduct surveillance and reporting of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and collaborate with local health departments as required
- Oversee NHSN reporting, manage the annual flu vaccination program, and support the hospital’s Water Safety and Hand Hygiene programs
- Participate in construction and renovation projects, ensuring infection control risk assessments are implemented and maintained
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (BSN) licensed in Ohio, or Master’s degree in Public Health, Respiratory Therapy, or Microbiology
- Minimum of one year of related experience in infection prevention, quality, or public health
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred upon hire, required within one year
- Strong analytical, communication, and data management skills
