Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate hospital-wide infection prevention efforts to ensure compliance with state, federal, and regulatory standards
  • Serve as a consultant to staff, providers, and leadership on infection control best practices
  • Develop and deliver education for employees, physicians, and patients on infection prevention topics
  • Conduct surveillance and reporting of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and collaborate with local health departments as required
  • Oversee NHSN reporting, manage the annual flu vaccination program, and support the hospital’s Water Safety and Hand Hygiene programs
  • Participate in construction and renovation projects, ensuring infection control risk assessments are implemented and maintained

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (BSN) licensed in Ohio, or Master’s degree in Public Health, Respiratory Therapy, or Microbiology
  • Minimum of one year of related experience in infection prevention, quality, or public health
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred upon hire, required within one year
  • Strong analytical, communication, and data management skills
