Quality Lab Technician I
About the role
This position is responsible for maintaining quality control processes, testing products, and recording and analyzing results to ensure Sherwin‑Williams products meet quality specifications. The technician tests production batches according to written methods, interprets results and historical data, and provides instructions to production personnel for batch adjustments as needed.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all tests are completed and results meet specifications before proceeding to the next production process.
- Enter all batch data into the electronic batch records system.
- Generate appropriate paperwork as needed per customer specifications.
- Gather and send customer samples as required.
- Utilize computer systems to ensure effective testing of products.
- Determine disposition of non‑compliant finished goods and place non‑conforming material on hold as needed.
- Support the ISO Management Systems and Safety Systems.
- Maintain inventory of lab supplies.
- Identify and communicate product issues to other departments as needed.
- Create, maintain, and update standard operating procedures for the Quality Department to meet ISO requirements.
- Assist in training other lab technicians as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one (1) year of experience working in a quality control laboratory.
- At least one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing or distribution facility.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Chemistry.
Schedule
Night Shift 6:00 pm – 6:00 am, rotating weekends.
Compensation
